I was once privileged to be able to follow two adult Orcas and one calf in a RIB from Jura to around 6 miles off Ballycastle. It shows the reach she has when our ancient skipper, after 3 hours of watching them, stated that :- “I dare say Bjork has a song about those fellas..” He was probably about 20 when Mr Gudmannsdottir met his wife-to-be…

Her first punk bank was “Spit and Snot” (1980…?) so she’s been singing with like this for nearly 30 yrs!!!
She did sort of screw up her vocal chords during the Homogenic tour, so I guess that makes her human. I read an interview with Goldie and apparently he tried to tell her her hold back a little during that tour but she just kept singing with abandon…she’s fearless.
But she’s so cool that she actually embraces the fact that her voice can go a little raspy…like on Medula.
Many have theorized that she’s either an angel or an alien.
i ask myself this question all the time.
